Often, to determine whether you fit a company, HRs ask many different (sometimes tricky) questions. It's also important to understand whether the company is right for you. For this reason, below is a list of important questions; asking them in the interview will help you get a clearer picture of what awaits you in the company.
It's best to start with more general questions, gradually refining them and moving to more pragmatic ones, such as salary and bonuses.
- What are the company's potential development plans, and what is its vision for the future? What are the priority directions and prospects for their development?
- Is expansion planned, and if so, where are new offices expected to be opened?
- What has been the employee turnover rate in the company over the past year?
- Is there statistics on the success rate of passing the probation period?
- How long does the probation period last (1, 2, 3 months, or perhaps it doesn't exist at all)?
- Does the company hold corporate events? When, where, and in what format do they usually take place?
- How does the company approach employee training? Are conferences / training paid for? How is time accounted for when a person is at a training or conference?
- How does the company view open source projects and commits to its repository?
- How does the company take care of its employees? Is there insurance, gym membership compensation, paid meals?
- Are sick leaves paid, and if so, in what format?
- Are there days off on public holidays?
- How and in what format are new employees onboarded?
- On what date and in what form is salary paid? If that date falls on a weekend / holiday?
- Are there any bonuses (yearly bonus, signing bonus)?
- Is computer provided? If so, can you choose the laptop model?
